Subject: sample translation

Hi Mark,  I got other candidate. They need sample translation. Please find attached source code list. This is the minimum one.  Is it possible to do sample translation? Or do you have any idea for them?

Answer

If they want to see a sample translation from a large system (> 11,000 LOC VB6, or > 5,000 LOC ASP), they can have us do a demonstration-only smart start.

If they cannot share code with us, and they only want to see if our tool will find errors with their code, they can use the trial to do an “Assessment Translation”.  This will run the translator for reports and to check the code for issues, but it will not generate .NET code.

If they cannot share code with us, and they want to examine the generated code, they should review our standard samples to see how the tool does things.  We have many samples already available for review.

If there is some specific thing that is not covered in our standard samples, they can make their own sample VB6/ASP/COM test.  The trial does not limit the type of code in their custom sample; and it does not limit the gmStudio features they can test on their custom sample.  The only limit of the trial is the size of the sample: 11,00 LOC VB6 and 5,000 LOC ASP.  I think that size is more than adequate to examine any VB6/ASP/COM coding scenario they need a sample of.    Let us know if they need help creating a small code for a proof of concept for specific features; we might have an internal sample already.  We have hundreds of different small samples showing all kinds of things.
